The earliest tarot decks date back to at least the 15th Century in Italy. The designs may even have roots in older Islamic cultures but not much is really known before this time. Tarot was originally game called "Tarrochi". But by the 18th Century Tarot began to be used for divinatory purposes in the rest of Europe, from there it has become very popular as a way of seeing into the past, present and future.
Structure Of The Tarot Deck
Tarot is similar to a deck of playing cards in that there are four suits, each suit going from Ace through to 10 and then there are four royal cards of Page, Knight (Jack), Queen and King. The difference to playing cards here is the addition of the Page. These cards are known as the "Minor Arcana"
There are also 21 archetype cards called the "Major Arcana" which are not seen in playing cards.
What Tarot Does
Some over-hype the tarot as a means of predicting your future, a tarot reading is there to provide guidelines to enable you to make specific decisions about your future.
The reading can find solutions and resolutions to obstacles a person may be facing or face in the future.
You may want to find clarity or come to terms with a sad or traumatic event a tarot reading can provide positivity with encouragement, support, and love.
There are two types of tarot readings questions and answers (most common) session or an open reading to help with more complex issues.
Basic Reading
The basic reading is a three-card spread - in this case after shuffling, the deck is divided into three equal parts by the psychic. One card from each pile is then chosen by the individual and is placed face upwards.
Representing the history associated with the question is the card on the left, while the middle card outlines the current scenario and the card on the right details the possible future.
The Four Card Spread
A four-card tarot spread reveals the answer to a specific question again shuffling of the cards is required, this time the psychic will select four cards and spread them on the table, face down, from left to right.
The individual may then turn them over to reveal their meaning reading from the left, the first card is the past, the second the present, the third the future and the fourth the answer to the question.
The fourth card indicates the measure that is required to bring about a positive outcome.
To note each card has a different image with a different meaning, also note cards that are upside down or right side up have different meanings.
Spreads
Spreads can be modified for different situations and specific topics that the individual is interested in during the reading.
Tarot readings are very popular and a simple search on the internet provides individuals with dozens of free online tarot psychics, readings can take place on a daily, monthly, weekly or yearly basis.
Prior to reading, it is important to clear your mind and be in a relaxed state.
It is very difficult to receive a good tarot reading if your mind is not clear from everything.
Once prepared the individual should ask specific questions but with not much details, the key to this is to leave some flexibility and space for open interpretation throughout the reading.
If the psychic allows it don’t be afraid to shuffle the cards and always choose wisely when the cards are revealed.
A tarot reading may help you connect with your intuition and encourage one to make positive decisions.
If you are looking to gain a new perspective on life a tarot reading might just be for you!
